Game Review

Xenon is a vertical scrolling shooter created by The Bitmap Brothers in 1988 for the Atari ST. The same year, it was ported to the Amiga, ZX Spectrum, and MSX. The game is the prequel to the much more popular Xenon 2: Megablast. Unlike other vertical shooters, the tank controlled by the player can move in all directions. The tank can also be transformed into a plane so that it can destroy enemies mounted on hills.

Xenon was the first game to demonstrate the gaming capabilities of 16-bit computers and opened a golden age for Atari ST and Amiga games.
