Game Review

Alien Fish Finger is a platform/shooter created by David J. Cruickshank for the Amiga initially in 1995 as shareware, then re-released for free in 2011.

This fantastic 2D shoot'em up, one of the best titles that you can find in the Amiga public domain, was developed entirely by Cruickshank, who coded the game with Blitz Basic II and made the graphics with Deluxe Paint 4. Many years later, in 2011, David decided to re-release the game, adding several enhancements, including new sound effects, 2nd button support for jumping, new secret areas, three difficulty levels, Steam-like achievements, and many many other things.

There is no need to describe this little gem too much because as soon as you try it, you will immediately fall in love with it. The gameplay is instantly addictive; controls are responsive; the atmosphere is brilliant and funny, and the graphics are simple but beautiful (I don't know why but it reminds me of Lemmings).

Alien Fish Finger is free to download, but if you want to thank the author you can make a donation to Cancer Research Uk.

Please note: a controller is recommended. The game will assign one button to Fire and one button to Jump. If you play with keyboard, before starting the game enter the Config Menu (from the game first screen), and assign "Joystick Up" to Jump.
