Supports the original release. REQUIREMENTS - Original disk or compatible disk image (Cracks have not been tested and are not supported) - Slave requires WHDLoad 19+ - RawDIC 5 for the imager - Game requires 512k chip memory (+ approx 610k other memory for preload option) FEATURES - Game loads fully from HD - Uses real files, which can be compressed with Propack/CrunchMania/FImp/XPK - Quit game at any time (default key F10), including on 68000 machines - Level editor designs are stored to disk (as usrlvlXXXX) - OS calls removed - Stack and decompression moved to fast memory if available - Missing blitter waits fixed - CPU-dependent (empty DBF) loops fixed - Raster line waits fixed - Blitter nasty (BLTHOG) settings removed - Missing color bit settings fixed - Trainers added - set CUSTOM1 with any of the following: + 1 for infinite lives (works in editor too) + 2 for invulnerability to all enemies and traps (works in editor too) + 4 to use DEL to skip level - Set CUSTOM2=1-42 to select starting level - Set CUSTOM3 to specify which part of the game loads first: * 0 for title screen * 1 for in-game * 2 for editor * 3 for opening logos/advert - Set CUSTOM4 for frame delay/speed regulation (defaults to 8 on install) - Combined Color/New/Rom Icon included - Translated manual included - Source code included CHEAT Hold fire + left mouse button + Help when starting the game. The screen will flash white when the first level starts, indicating the cheat is active. You will now be invulnerable to all enemies and traps, and can press Del to skip levels. HISTORY Version 1.0 (2025-11-02) - Initial release WORDS FROM THE AUTHOR An interesting Boulderdash clone, but the level designs are kind of nuts! The presentation is not really that different from an 8-bit game, just with more colours. There were some really tricky blitter waits to fix, because the game does blits both in the main code and during the vblank interrupt, meaning there could be two blits trying to run at the same time. Yikes! Every part of the game is its own executable, so lots of duplicate patching needed, which was kind of tedious. The included level editor is not that useful because you can't change the main game's levels - only make your own and play them individually. Nonetheless I've supported it in full so you can load and save your designs to HD if you want. The game runs too fast on anything above an A500 so I've set a default frame delay of 8 (yes, it really is that slow on an A500!) to reign it in.
