Game Review

Damage: The Sadistic Butchering of Humanity is a violent action game/beat 'em up created by Suomi-Peli for the Commodore Amiga in 1996.

The game's goal is simple: explore the city and kill all the people you can find. You start with a baseball bat, but you can collect additional weapons as long as you advance. Some drugs will improve your character strength and skills.

Damage is a game for adults - blood and gore are high. There is no plot or predefined path. You can consider it a sort of sandbox game, like Grand Theft Auto, but with a 2D side view. Levels are made of fixed, carefully designed screens with small people and objects.

Technically speaking, the game is excellent. The pixel-art is fantastic, and the animation is fluid. It's just a pity that there is no music during the game, but the digitized sound effects are pleasing.

If you like the idea of having fun killing small pixels on the screen, this is the game for you.
