THIS PACKAGE COMES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO USE, RESULTS AND PERFORMANCE OF THE PACKAGE IS ASSUMED BY YOU AND IF THE PACKAGE SHOULD PROVE TO BE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR OR OTHER REMEDIATION. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, CAN THE AUTHOR BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED IN ANY USUAL, SPECIAL, OR ACCIDENTAL WAY, ALSO IF THE OWNER OR A THIRD PARTY HAS BEEN POINTED AT SUCH POSSIBILITIES OF DAMAGE. This install applies to "Bombfusion" © 1989 Virgin Mastertronic. Requirements: ------------- This install requires WHDLoad and DIC to be in the path. These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package. To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert. The installed game requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.8 MB OtherMem for preload). It can be quit by pressing F1 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey="). Features: --------- - Full load from HD - Wrong custom register accesses ($df0xxx) fixed (x108) - Write to read-only register (VPOSR) fixed - Read from $dfd500 fixed - Blitter waits added (x9, on 68010+ machines only if CUSTOM2 is not used) - Trainers added (CUSTOM1, see below) - Interrupts fixed - Keyboard routine fixed - DMA waits in replayers fixed (x4) - Disk image size optimised - NewIcon (created by me) - Source code included as usual - Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F1') This patch happened completely by coincidence, I saw Gary Antcliffe (coder of the game) posting on EAB the other day and checked HOL to see which games he had made and found this one. The code had quite a few major problems, worst was the wrong custom register access. Instead of using $dffxxx the coder used $df0xxx for a reason I fail to understand, quite surprising that this works on the A500, probably due to some mirroring I guess. Anyway, this needed to be fixed of course which was quickly done with a small piece of code which took care of these offending custom register accesses. There also were some other problems such as writing to read only registers, CPU dependent DMA waits and stuff like that. Still, despite of these problems the code actually isn't that bad! Blitter waits had to be added too, this will only be done on 68010+ machines to avoid slow downs on 68000 machines. On such machines the blitter wait patches can be forced with CUSTOM2=1. I have added some trainers as well, these can be enabled with CUSTOM1. Available options are: CUSTOM1=1: enables unlimited lives CUSTOM1=2: enables unlimited time (the bombs won't explode) CUSTOM1=4: turns of radioactivity CUSTOM1=8: enables in-game keys, you can use the following keys: N - skips level T - toggles unlimited time R - toggles radioactivity L - toggles unlimited lives These should be more than enough options to make the game easier to play. Enjoy it from HD. Sting, 09-Apr-2014 Greetings to all in Scarab and Scoopex, the WHDLoad team, PMC, Musashi5150, Skan, Slummy, Loaderror, Frequent, Wayne Kerr, Mr.Spiv, Alpha One, CFou!, Paradroid and all the other usual suspects. :) Special greetings to all Golf MK1 fans worldwide except those lowlifes who "borrowed" my MK1 for a joyride! Extra greetings to the usual suspects on #amigascne, see you all at Revision 2014! :) History: -------- version 1.00 (09.04.2014) - initial version - source code include Contact: -------- If you have problems with this installation please try and get a newer version of this package from the WHDLoad WWW-Page. If that doesn't help try some Tooltypes like NOCACHE, NOAUTOVEC, EXPCHIP, NOMMU, PAL or NTSC. If that also fails, please inform the author via the Bug-Report-Form which can be accessed on the WHDLoad WWW-Page.
