Game Review

Laser Squad is a turn-based tactics video game, developed by Julian Gollop with Target Games and originally released in 1988 for the ZX Spectrum, later ported to the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, MSX, Amiga and Atari ST.

The DOS version was released some years later, in 1992. Laser Squad was highly appreciated by magazines and he received very good reviews. It can be considered a precursor and an inspiration of other tactical games, in particular the X-COM series and UFO: Enemy Unknown, which was also created by Julian Gollop and was initially conceived as a sequel to Laser Squad.
