Game Review

Laser Squad is a turn-based tactics game designed by Julian Gollop and his company Target Games. We are presenting here the 1989 Amiga version.

Originally the game was created for the ZX Spectrum and released in 1988. Other versions for 8bit computers such as Commodore 64 were released the same year.

The first 16bit versions of the game, for Amiga and Atari ST, appeared in 1989. The porting was made by Teque, which made an excellent job improving the graphics and animations, still remaining faithful to the style of the original game. As a plus, the Amiga/ST versions add 2 additional missions (The Cyber Hordes and Paradise Valley) to the original 3 ones (The Assassins, Moonbase Assault and Rescue from the Mines).

If you prefer the 1992 DOS version, featuring a completely changed graphics, have a look at Laser Squad 1992. But if you want to feel the original mood, you will like this one better!
