Game Review

After the success of the original Stardust, the Finnish studio Bloodhouse decided to change publisher and create an enhanced version of their Asteroids clone.

Published by Team 17, Super Stardust was released in 1994 for Amiga AGA machines. In 1995 a CD32 version was released, while the MS-DOS version was published in 1996.

Featuring 256 color graphics and pre-rendered objects, the visuals of this enhanced version were absolutely stunning. The tunnel section, the warp gate used to trasfer the ship between worlds, was particularly impressive.

The audio was already amazing in the original version, but the CD32 version of Super Stardust featured a full CD-DA soundtrack composed by Nicklas Renqvist and Niko Nyman (that you can download separately from this site).

The only negative point is the difficulty, especially on the time-limited levels.
