We are not sure other websites are doing this. Probably it’s a bad idea but it’s an experiment we would like to do. We have been thinking about creating a forum or a community chat for some time now, but we didn’t want to make things complex on the website, adding a registration and so on. So we had this idea: why don’t we use Slack?

In case you don’t know it, Slack is a communication system made for teams. Check here for more info.

It’s totally free and they provide mobile clients, desktop clients and a website. We have created a team called “gamesnostalgia” and we will invite all the people that will request an invitation to join. Once you are inside you will be able to do a 1-to-1 chat with us, or you can enter one of the channels. There will be generic channels like #techsupport, #newgamesrequests and there will be specific channels for some games. This way, if you need help, you can be helped both by us and by other members of the community.

Of course if you just have a problem with a game, facebook, twitter, or an email is still the best solution. But if you want to be involved more, you would like to be notified in real time about new features, you would like to give suggestions and maybe help other users, we think Slack could be great.

It’s like a private club. People that ask to be invited should really have a passion for retrogames and should be fan of GamesNostalgia. In a way, you will part of the family :)

No need to say that no Abuse will be tolerated. We will immediately remove and ban all the users that are not acting properly.

If you want to be invited, let us know your email address. You can write to editor -at- gamesnostalgia.com, or you can send us a message on twitter or our facebook page. We look forward to talking to you!
