This install applies to "Blastar" © 1993 Core Design This install requires WHDLoad and DIC to be in the path. Both can be found in the WHDLoad package. To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert. The installed program requires 0.5 MB ChipMem and 0.6 MB OtherMem. It can be quit by pressing F9 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey="). If you have problems with this installation please try and get a newer version of this package from the WHDLoad WWW-Page. If that doesn't help try some Tooltypes like NOCACHE, NOAUTOVEC, NOVBRMOVE, NOMMU, PAL or NTSC. If that also fails, please inform the author via the Bug-Report-Form which can be accessed on the WHDLoad WWW-Page. For the full WHDLoad package, other installs and updates refer to: http://www.whdload.de/ or aminet:dev/misc/whdload#? and aminet:game/patch/ Some notes about this new 3.0 version of the Blastar patch: It has been completely rewritten and fixes several problems. On fast machines, the scrolling in the game wasn't smooth, this has been fixed now. The fix is only required for fast machines, if you play on a slow 68000 machine, use the option to disable the graphics fix as otherwise the game will slow down. There also were a few access faults, in 2 levels the ProPack decruncher accessed memory outside the 512k boundary, I have adapted the code to avoid this. In the weapon selection menu (shop) there was another access fault when selecting available weapons with joytick up/down, this was caused by a wrong branch instruction after checking if end of the menu was reached and has been fixed too. To be able to read the text in the mission obective screen, a delay has been added. Originally these screens are shown while the game loads and decrunches data which means these were only visible for a short time when loading from HD on a fast machine. You can exit the mission objective screens by pressing fire, this will only work after decrunching has been finished. If you don't press fire, the screen will be shown for 5 seconds. The option handling has been improved as well, originally the settings for the joystick type/mode and difficulty were reset to defaults when returning to the main menu after playing a game. In this patch, the settings for the joystick type/mode and difficulty are properly restored when returning to the main menu. A lot of trainer options have been added as well, to see the available in-game keys press "Help" during game. Creating this update was quite a bit of work, I do hope the game works properly now.
