Short : HD-Installer for Alien Syndrome Type : game/patch Author : Jean-François Fabre (jffabre@free.fr) & Psygore This install applies to "Alien Syndrome" © 1987 SEGA It supports SPS #2352 and #2353. Features: - Runs fully from HD using WHDLoad/KickEmu/KickDOS - Convenient install script - Disk protection removed - Quit key (numerical '*', or configurable with QUITKEY) - Nice icons by Exoticons - If CUSTOM5 is set to 1 in the tooltypes, the TAB key toggles infinite lives/time The screen flashes green when trainer is on, and yellow when it is off - Hiscores saved to harddisk (only if TAB key was not used in CUSTOM5=1 mode) - Screens can be accelerated using the fire button (thanks Bored) Version 1.2 (23.12.2015) by Psygore: - Supports another version (with 23 decryption loops for the disk and relocation routines, a key was generated with some infos (tracks size/decoded mfm data) to decrypt the main executable), thanks to Christoph Gleisberg for the diskimages - Install script updated Version 1.1 (03.11.2013) by Psygore: - Needs at least WHDLoad v17.2 - MC68020 flag removed from the slave - Supports another version SPS #2352 (Herndon HLS protection) - Less chip memory requirements - All files in data dir can be packed as data with Propack or FImp - F-Keys remapped to joystick (requested by SolderPCB) - Set CUSTOM1=1 to slow down the game speed on fast cpu - CUSTOM5=1 will enable the trainers by default now - To reset hiscores, delete the ASCORE.OBJ file in data dir - Install script updated - BoxIcons and Frank's icons added Joystick control in menu: - Left for 1 player (F1) - Up for 2 players with joystick (F3) - Right to toggle on/off sound (F5) - Down + fire to start game (F10) Thanks to: - Bored Seal for suggestions - Carlo Pirri for providing the original disk -- Requirements: The game requires a installed A500 Kickstart 1.3 image. The kickstart image must be located in the directory "Devs:Kickstarts" and must be named "kick34005.A500". The image can be extracted from a A500 with tools like 'GrabKick' or similar which can be found on aminet. If the image is of wrong version or altered in any way WHDLoad will quit with a appropriate requester. Additionally the file "kick34005.A500.RTB" must be installed in the same directory as the kickstart image. It can be found in the archive "util/boot/skick346.lha" on aminet.
