README

THIS PACKAGE COMES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO USE, RESULTS AND PERFORMANCE OF THE PACKAGE IS ASSUMED BY YOU AND IF THE PACKAGE SHOULD PROVE TO BE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR OR OTHER REMEDIATION. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, CAN THE AUTHOR BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED IN ANY USUAL, SPECIAL, OR ACCIDENTAL WAY, ALSO IF THE OWNER OR A THIRD PARTY HAS BEEN POINTED AT SUCH POSSIBILITIES OF DAMAGE. That install applies to "Exile" © 1991-1995 Audiogenic Game requires 2.0MB ChipRAM (+ 2.0MB any memory for PreLoad) ECS version has 1 disk AGA version has 2 disks CD32 version has 1 CD * AGA & CD32 version (done by JOTD): The game requires an installed A1200 or A4000 Kickstart 3.1 image. The kickstart image must be located in the directory "Devs:Kickstarts" and must be named "kick40068.A1200", or kick40068.A4000. The image can be extracted from a A1200 (resp A4000) with tools like 'GrabKick' or similar which can be found on aminet. If the image is of wrong version or altered in any way WHDLoad will quit with an appropriate requester. Additionally the file "kick40068.A1200.RTB" or "kick40068.A4000.RTB" must be installed in the same directory as the kickstart image. It can be found in the archive "util/boot/skick346.lha" on aminet. If you have problems with this installation please try and get a newer version of this package from the WHDLoad WWW-Page. If that doesn't help try some Tooltypes like NOCACHE, NOAUTOVEC, NOVBRMOVE, NOMMU, PAL or NTSC. If that also fails, please inform the author via the Bug-Report-Form which can be accessed on the WHDLoad WWW-Page or create a mantis issue directly at http://mantis.whdload.de For the full WHDLoad package, other installs and updates refer to: http://www.whdload.de/ or aminet:dev/misc/whdload#? and aminet:game/patch/ version 1.1 (12.07.2020) done by JOTD: - AGA/CD32 version: added BUTTONWAIT to see the credits - AGA version: removed flashing "insert disk 2" - CD32 version: added quitkey when novbrmove is set version 1.0 (03.05.2020) done by JOTD: - initial release for AGA & CD32 - copylock protection removed for AGA version (borrowed from an old crack) - saves to hard disk - added multiple slot system for CD32 version (originally only one slot) - source code included * ECS version (Bored Seal, Codetapper, Galahad, JOTD): This patch applies to "Exile" by Audiogenic (c) 1991 - 1 disk. Slave requires WHDLOAD V13+. Game requires 0.5MB ChipRAM (+ 0.9MB any memory for PreLoad) FEATURES: (Bored Seal) - Full loading from HD - Savegames redirected to HD - RNC disk protection removed - Blitter waits added - No waiting for intro module pattern anymore - Faster boot option added (set tooltype CUSTOM1=1) - NI/ROM icon (created by JHZ) - Quit option (your default key) History: V1.4 (04-May-2020) done by JOTD: - reduced chipmem usage to 512k (issue #0004604) - fixed soundtracker dbf loops in intro (buggy music on fast machines) - added cache flushes where they were missing V1.3 (29-Jun-2007) Bored Seal: - whd16+ compatibility fixed, source included - savegames didn't worked from v1.2 if savedisk image was not pre-created, now fixed v1.2 (Galahad) - Now both Copylock Protection routines have been removed properly - Code protection later in the game removed - Replaced JHZ's small single frame icons with a 120x96 RomIcon, NewIcon, and OS3.5 Colour Icon (Codetapper) and 2 Exoticons (taken from http://exotica.fix.no) - Instructions included Protection Notes: It appears that many people with Emulators and Real Amiga's have had problems from this game for a long time, this is SOLELY because The Company in a rare form of slackness, didn't crack it properly, hence why all ADF files are basically junk! Now, ALL copy protection is removed and Exile plays as it should.... HOW TO TRANSFER MY OLD SAVEDISK? Put your old savegame floppy in the disk drive. Get disk2file (it's a program from the JST package). Now write this line in CLI: disk2file 0 Disk.2 108 159 It will create the file 'Disk.2' with size 292864 bytes. Copy it into the Exile directory. Thanks to - Adrian Simpson for the disk image - Codetapper for fixing OS switch problem with saves!
