 This install applies to "Kings Quest 3" © 1987/1989 Sierra.

 Requirements:
 -------------
 This install requires WHDLoad to be in the path.
 This program can be found in the WHDLoad package.
 To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.

 The installed game requires 0.5 MB ChipMem.
 (+1.0 MB for preload and Kickstart ROM)
 It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").

 The game requires an installed A500 Kickstart 1.3 image.
 The kickstart image must be located in the directory "Devs:Kickstarts" and
 must be named "kick34005.A500". The image can be extracted from a A500 with
 tools like 'GrabKick' or similar which can be found on aminet.
 If the image is of wrong version or altered in any way WHDLoad will quit with
 an appropriate message.
 Additionally the file "kick34005.A500.RTB" must be installed in the same
 directory as the kickstart image. It can be found in the archive
 "util/boot/skick346.lha" on aminet.

 I have redone this patch from scratch because JOTD's old patch only
 supported the unprotected Kixx XL re-release. Now the original Herndon
 HLS protected version (SPS 521) is supported too! I have also disabled
 the load/save directory requests to avoid problems and because it is
 much more convenient like this, now games are always saved in the
 "save" directory.

 Attention: The executable of the original version is read protected which 
 means it can't be copied without modifying the protection flags. I have
 added 2 warning messages during installation before the file will be
 modified. Once you click proceed after the first warning message there
 will be another one, this will be your last chance to abort installation
 if you are in doubt.
 Don't use your original disk for installation, you have been warned!
 This only applies to the original Herndon HLS protected version (it has a
 file named "Sierra" on disk), the Kixx XL re-release does not have this
 problem and will not be modified during installation.
