README

Short : HD-Installer for Prophecy: The Viking Child Type : game/patch Author : Bored Seal, StingRay This patch applies to "Prophecy: The Viking Child" by Imagitec Design (c) 1990 - 3 disks. Slave requires WHDLOAD V10+. Game requires 0.5 MB ChipRAM (+ 2.1MB for PreLoad option) FEATURES: - Full loading from HD - 2 versions supported - Disk protection removed - Keyboard interrupt fixed - Decruncher moved to FastRAM - Beam delays added - Highscores are saved - Trainer option added (set CUSTOM1=1 for unlimited lives) - NI/ROM icon (created by JHZ) - Quit option (your default key) HISTORY: V1.0 (06-Sep-1999) - first release V1.1 beta (10-Jul-2006) - beam delays added, decruncher relocated (READ THE NOTES!) - taglist fixed to work with WHDLoad v16.6 V1.2 (30-Nov-2017) done by StingRay - RawDIC imager (requires RawDIC 5.0) - patches added for one version in V1.1 applied the other other supported version too - WHDLoad v17+ features used (config) - new install script - NOTES: * Changes for V1.1 are made only for 1 version. I've lost other supported version, so if slave exits with "ILLEGAL instruction" error message, please contact me and I will update it for your version * Install procedure doesn't work in multitask. Don't panic and wait until ripping/loading stuff is finished. It can take about 1-2 minutes for 1 disk. NOTES V1.2 ---------- I (StingRay) have coded a RawDIC imager so the installation is now MUCH faster! Coding the imager took longer than expected but was fun to do. I have applied the changes Bored Seal added in V1.1 to to the other supported version too so it is now supported again. I will update the patch later again and add 68000 quitkey support and other things but for now this quick update should do, the RawDIC imager is a major improvement in my opinion. Thanks to Chris Vella for disk images. Bug report form, full WHDLoad package and other installs: http://www.whdload.de
