THIS PACKAGE COMES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO USE, RESULTS AND PERFORMANCE OF THE PACKAGE IS ASSUMED BY YOU AND IF THE PACKAGE SHOULD PROVE TO BE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR OR OTHER REMEDIATION. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, CAN THE AUTHOR BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED IN ANY USUAL, SPECIAL, OR ACCIDENTAL WAY, ALSO IF THE OWNER OR A THIRD PARTY HAS BEEN POINTED AT SUCH POSSIBILITIES OF DAMAGE. This install applies to "Robozone" © 1991 Mirrorsoft. Requirements: ------------- This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path. It can be found in the WHDLoad package. To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert. The installed game requires 0.5 MB ChipMem and 0.1 MB OtherMem (+1.5 MB for preload). It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey="). Features: --------- - Full load from HD (real files!) - Protection removed (Copylock, MFM) - System-friendly RawDIC imager - Blitter problems in level 1 fixed - Blitter waits added (x48, only on 68010+ machines) - CUSTOM3 forces blitter waits on 68000 machines - Copperlist problems (wrong copper nop instruction) in level 3 fixed - DMA waits in sample players and replayer fixed (x6) - Byte write to volume register fixed (x3) - Decrunchers (Fire-Pack, Ice-Pack) relocated to fast memory - Trainers added (CUSTOM1, see below) - Intro supported, it can be skipped with CUSTOM2 tooltype - Keyboard routines fixed - Interrupts fixed - Supports SPS 257 version - NewIcon (created by me) - Source code included as usual - Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10') Here's finally a patch for this game. Made a first version of the patch back in May 2010 (time flies!) when I was bored at work and then forgot about it. Some days ago I remembered this game and since there still was no patch for it I finished mine. First version used disk images but since the game has file tables on both disks I changed the patch to use real files now. Code isn't that bad but there were still quite a few problems to fix. In the first level the game used a position table for blitting but the access to that very table wasn't clipped so the game used completely wrong addresses for the blits sometimes, I have fixed this in the fastest way possible by just enlarging the position table but that means the patch needs 100k additional memory now. I don't think this is much of a problem though. There also were wrong blits when the player fired a shot, I have fixed these too of course. In level 3 there were wrong copperlist instructions used for the copper nops ($1fa instead of $1fe). The other problems were the common ones such as CPU dependent delay loops in the sample players and module replayers and stuff like that. The game uses data files which have been packed with Pack-Ice and Pack-Fire, both are crunchers that come from the Atari world (coded by Axe/Delight), I have relocated the decrunchers to fast memory for faster decrunching. I have also added some trainer options, to enable them you can use the CUSTOM1 tooltype (or simply use WHDLoad's splash window). Available options are: CUSTOM1=1: unlimited energy CUSTOM1=2: unlimited ammo CUSTOM1=4: unlimited time (i.e. no pollution) CUSTOM1=8: enables in-game keys, following keys can be used: E - toggle unlimited energy T - toggle unlimited time N - skip level 1...5 - select weapon (not all weapons are available in each level) The intro is supported too, you can either skip it completely with the CUSTOM2 tooltype or quit it by pressing left mouse button. I have patched it so that the game will be loaded if you quit the intro with left mouse button, the original game would just crash at this point. Since there is no real high score table I didn't bother to implement high score load/save. Not the most exciting game in the world but not that bad either in my opinion. Could've been a good game with a better and more interesting level design. The horizontal shooter (level 3) isn't that bad though. Have fun, Sting, 26-Jan-2014 Greetings to all in Scarab and Scoopex, the WHDLoad team, PMC, Musashi5150, Skan, Slummy, Loaderror, Frequent, Wayne Kerr, Mr.Spiv, Alpha One, CFou!, Paradroid and all the other usual suspects. :) Special greetings to all Golf MK1 fans worldwide except those lowlifes who "borrowed" my MK1 for a joyride! Extra greetings to the usual suspects on #amigascne, see you all at Revision 2014! :) History: -------- version 1.01 (12.04.2014) - graphics problems in title screen and level 3 fixed (issue #2930) - fixed crash on some machines if intro started started to loop (issue #2965) - CUSTOM3 tooltype added to force blitter wait patches on 68000 machines version 1.00 (26.01.2014) done by StingRay: - initial version - source code included Contact: -------- If you have problems with this installation please try and get a newer version of this package from the WHDLoad WWW-Page. If that doesn't help try some Tooltypes like NOCACHE, NOAUTOVEC, EXPCHIP, NOMMU, PAL or NTSC. If that also fails, please inform the author via the Bug-Report-Form which can be accessed on the WHDLoad WWW-Page. For the full WHDLoad package, other installs and updates refer to: http://www.whdload.de/ or aminet:dev/misc/whdload#? and aminet:game/patch/
