This patch applies to "Stunt Car Racer" (c) 1989 Microstyle - 1 disk.
Supported versions: - Original release (Carlo Pirri)
                    - TNT (The New Tracks) release (AmiGer)

REQUIREMENTS:
- Slave requires WHDLoad V10+.
- Game requires 0.5Mb chip memory (+0.4Mb other memory for preload option)

VERSION 1.0: (14-Jan-1997)
- Full load from HD
- Loads and saves driver information to a separate file (which can be
  unpacked back onto a disk using DiskWiz or a similar utility)
- Included save file has all 4 super division tracks ready for racing
- Quit option (default key is '*' on keypad)

VERSION 1.1: (12-Dec-1999)
- Trainer added (F1 to toggle infinite boost, Help to win the race)
- Turbo mode included (toggle with F2)
- ButtonWait tooltype added for loading picture
- 24 bit access faults fixed (x2)

VERSION 1.2: (20-Feb-2002)
- Now supports the original (thanks to Harry and Galahad/Fairlight!)
- Loads and saves fastest lap and track times
- Loading a non existant save game no longer quits the game
- Turbo mode code completely rewritten
- When turbo mode is enabled, the word TURBO will appear in the top left
  corner of the screen to show that it is active
- Tooltype CUSTOM1=1 added to automatically start with infinite boost
- Tooltype CUSTOM2=1 added to automatically start with turbo mode enabled
- Instructions included
- Trainer keys changed to F6/F7 since game uses F1 to redefine keys while
  it is paused
- Audio filter disabled for clearer sound
- Beautiful RomIcon, NewIcon and GlowIcon (all created by Frank!) and 2 
  Exoticons (taken from http://exotica.fix.no)
- Existing save game renamed from "highs" to "StuntCarRacer.save"
- Slave heavily optimised
- Quit key changed to F10

VERSION 1.3: (18-Dec-2004)
- Supports the TNT version made by AmiGer/CARE
- Fire button will bypass name entry sequence
- Slave optimised (due to one of the decryption keys being wrong)
- Turbo text will no longer corrupt any pictures in the top left corner
- Icon modifications

VERSION 1.4: (08-Jul-2ß23)
- Keyboard problems fixed (issue #3512)
- WHDLoad v17+ features used
- Source code included

The turbo mode code removes two delays and speeds up the game on most
systems.  If you use the turbo mode in conjunction with the CACHE tooltype,
you will be in for a very fast race!  If you also add the NTSC tooltype on
PAL machines, you will get an even faster game!  The turbo mode code works
very well on 68030 machines but may cause some graphical glitches or no
noticable speed improvement on Amigas equipped with a 68040 or 68060 so
tough luck!  On these later 2 CPU's, treat the turbo mode as an
experimental patch which may or may not work for you.  Do not report bugs
with it as it is only a hack and was not in the original game.

The turbo mode code was ripped from an AGA fix of the game by Galahad and
was improved by me!  It also now displays the word TURBO in the top left
corner of the screen if the turbo mode is activated.

If you are upgrading from versions 1.0 or 1.1 of the existing hard drive
installer for this game, please rename your save game file from "highs" to
"StuntCarRacer.save".

This install now supports the TNT version created by AmiGer/CARE which
allows you to play the game with 8 new tracks and colours!  A big thank you
to AmiGer for all his hard work putting the game together!

Greetings to Harry for decrypting the game, Galahad/Fairlight for the turbo
mode, Carlo for the original and reporting the bug in the install script,
AmiGer for the new TNT version, Frank for the superb icons (it must have
taken ages to remove the text from the loading pic!), Angus for testing,
the Exotica team for the exoticons, Wepl, all Action members and the whole
WHDLoad team!
