THIS PACKAGE COMES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO USE, RESULTS AND PERFORMANCE OF THE PACKAGE IS ASSUMED BY YOU AND IF THE PACKAGE SHOULD PROVE TO BE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR OR OTHER REMEDIATION. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, CAN THE AUTHOR BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED IN ANY USUAL, SPECIAL, OR ACCIDENTAL WAY, ALSO IF THE OWNER OR A THIRD PARTY HAS BEEN POINTED AT SUCH POSSIBILITIES OF DAMAGE. This install is for "Turrican 2" © 1991 Factor 5 / Rainbow Arts. Turrican 2 was written by Factor 5 and published by Rainbow Arts. Created by Manfred Trenz, coded by Holger Schmidt, graphics by Andreas Escher & Thomas Engel, music by Chris Hülsbeck. Features: - saves hiscores to disk - press F10 to quit - also supports the CDTV version of the game. - skip the Rainbow Arts intro logo: hold down the fire button as you load this game, you'll go straight to the titles. Or set Custom1=1 to skip it always. - cheat: press SPACE in the titles for the music menu, then press 1, 4, 2, ESC, ESC. You'll have infinite lives and no points. - level select: press SPACE in the titles for the music level, then choose the music of world 1 to 5. In this new menu, press TAB to start the game at the beginning of that world. - for the floppy version you can compress the file '60000' with ProPack or FImp (no extension!) to save disk space, for the CDTV you can compress all files in the data directory Note: - the installation process will not work with adf image provided by the factor5 website, because this image has incomplete last track, with other words the adf itself is broken The installed program requires 0.5 MB ChipMem and 0.5 MB OtherMem. The CDTV version requires 1 MB ChipMem. It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey="). If you have problems with this installation please try first to get a newer version of this package from the WHDLoad's WWW-Page. If that doesn't help try some Tooltypes like NOCACHE, NOAUTOVEC, NOVBRMOVE, NOMMU, PAL or NTSC. If that also doesn't succeeds inform the author via the Bug-Report-Form which can be accessed on the WHDLoad's WWW-Page. For full WHDLoad package, other installs and updates refer to: http://www.whdload.de/ or aminet:dev/misc/whdload#? and aminet:game/patch/ version 2.2 (01.10.2022) done by JOTD: - 3-button joystick support. Selecting CUSTOM2 bit 0 (blue/second button as jump), 3rd button can trigger smart bomb (issue #0005799) version 2.1-B (20.06.2020) done by JOTD: - fixed install script for floppy version (issue #0004737) - added SPS identification file version 2.1 (17.06.2020) done by JOTD: - CDTV slave was not updated - merged floppy & CDTV versions, lots of code in common, only at source level but there are still 2 separate slaves due to 2 different memory requirements - changed install folder name to respect previous version folder name version 2.0 (16.06.2020) done by JOTD: - CUSTOM2=1: jump using second/blue button, smart bomb uses green CD32 button. Issue #0000412 - CUSTOM2=2 (or 3 combined with above option): super smart bomb uses yellow CD32 button instead of both buttons - CUSTOM1: trainer: infinite lives, time, smart & super smart bombs (hiscores won't be saved). Issue #0000850 - adapted to whdload v17 - merged floppy & CDTV versions, lots of code in common - level selection at startup - CD32 joypad controls: * play=pause * reverse+forward=quit * reverse+forward+yellow=quit to wb * blue: jump (if CUSTOM2 is set) * green: flash (if CUSTOM2 bit 0 is set, else it's blue) * yellow: super smart bomb (if CUSTOM2 bit 1 is set, else it's red+blue/red+space) - fixed music even more (issue #0002993) version Floppy 1.7 (09.07.09) done by Wepl: version CDTV 1.4 - 2nd fire button fixed another time, no longer one pressed button causes multiple events, reported by Patrik Axelsson, issue #2113 version Floppy 1.6 (15.06.09) done by Wepl: version CDTV 1.3 - 2nd fire button now also works with alien joypads (some resistance instead of micro switches), reported by ChrKum, issue #1196 version Floppy 1.5 (02.06.09) done by Wepl: - bug in TFMX-Pro replay fixed, maybe sounds a bit different now? reported by Don Adan, issue #2031 version CDTV 1.2 - no longer 'game over' after 'time over', strange thing, this was coded that way in difference to the disk versions, maybe there is some check which disables that but I didn't find it, reported by Matt Campbell, issue #2007 - bug in TFMX-Pro replay fixed, maybe sounds a bit different now? reported by Don Adan, issue #2031 - new install script version Floppy 1.5 (04.11.06) done by Wepl: - merged Kyzer's changes - new disk imager using RawDIC - new install script, docs and icons added - world select adapted for second version - pp20 decruncher relocated too version CDTV 1.1 - world select added - ntsc support version 1.3 (01.06.00) done by Kyzer: - added intro logo skip - added level select (not public released) versions 1.0 (14.12.96) through 1.2 (21.02.1999) done by Wepl - That was an easy install because Turrican 2 is well programmed. Nearly no fixes was neccessary only the loader and saver has been redirected and the decruncher patched because it uses self modifying code.
