After Burner II

After Burner II (also known as After Burner SEGA) is an enhanced re-release for Commodore 64 and Amiga of the popular arcade After Burner. The official sequel of the arcade, After Burner 2, was also essentially the same game with some more enemies and new levels, so it's unclear if this is the port of the first or the second arcade. Some call it simply After Burner, and others After Burner II.

While the first conversion was managed by Activision, this new port was curated by Weebee Games (both on the C64 and Amiga versions). Despite some problems, Weebee definitely did a better job. The view is now full-screen, without borders, so it's much more immersive. There are also a few improvements.

Probably not the best coin-op conversion, but if you are a fan of Top Gun, it's the game for you. Remember that this is not a flight sim; it's just an arcade, so you won't find much depth.
