The Chessmaster 3000 is the third edition of the famous chess games series created by The Software Toolworks.
The series started in 1986 with The Chessmaster 2000, and continued with The Fidelity Chessmaster 2100 in 1988. The Chessmaster 3000 was released in 1991.
Unlike the previous titles, that were released for several 8-bit and 16-bit platforms, including Commodore 64 and Amiga, The Chessmaster 3000 was developed only for PC (MS-DOS and Windows3.x) and Mac.
