Game Review

Predator is a shooter-action game created by Activision, based on the famous movie with Schwarzenegger. Released in 1988 by Activision and developed by Source, it is an action-packed game that puts players in the shoes of the leader of a special forces unit as they fight their way through the dense jungle of Central America. The game is based on the popular sci-fi movie of the same name, and it delivers an intense and thrilling experience that will keep players on the edge of their seats.

The graphics of Predator are impressive for the time, especially on the C64, with detailed character models and vibrant jungle environments that feel immersive and realistic. The game's soundtrack is also noteworthy, with a tense and atmospheric score perfectly capturing the film's intense action sequences.

The gameplay is challenging but satisfying, with various weapons and power-ups to collect and a host of enemy soldiers and alien creatures to defeat. Unfortunately, the game can also be quite challenging. The difficulty level ramps up quickly as players progress through the levels, and it may be off-putting to more casual players or those not used to the demanding gameplay. Honestly, the game's high difficulty level may even lead to some frustration, so I had to use a trainer.

That being said, for those who enjoy a good challenge and are willing to put in the time and effort to master the game's mechanics, Predator can be a rewarding and satisfying experience.

The Commodore 64 and Amiga versions of Predator share the same core gameplay and story, but the two versions have several key differences. One of the most noticeable differences between the two versions is the graphics. Thanks to its more powerful hardware, the Amiga version features more detailed and colorful graphics than the Commodore 64 version.

Overall, Predator won't be remembered as the best conversion from a movie to a video game, but it is a good title for fans of the film and action games in general. Gameplay is not the best, but the atmosphere is excellent. If you are a fan of Schwarzenegger, you can't miss it.
