Sexy Droids is a puzzle/strategy game with an erotic theme, created by Magic Bytes for Amiga and released for both DOS and Amiga in 1992. The concept is similar to Strip Poker, where, if you win, a girl removes an item of clothing, revealing part of her body. However, as the title suggests, the protagonists are sensual, female-shaped cyborgs in this case. The droids' design comes from renowned Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, famous for his drawings of female robots, characterized by two "antennas" protruding from the sides of their heads and a horizontal line (in a RoboCop style) instead of eyes. While not everyone may appreciate this sensual style, it's clear that this is not just simple erotica but artistic work and masterful illustrations.
As for the gameplay, it is a kind of mathematical puzzle for two players. You can play with a friend or, without one, the computer will take over. The game is played on a grid filled with random numbers. One player can move the cursor horizontally, while the other moves it vertically. When a cell is selected, the number is removed and added to the player's score. If the number is negative, the score will decrease. The gameplay is based on an old game called Maxit, a puzzle created by Harry Saal for the Commodore PET in 1978.
Though it may seem simple, the game requires a great deal of strategy and planning, as you need to think several moves ahead to avoid being outmaneuvered by your opponent. In some ways, it also resembles the famous board game *Labyrinth*, where players shift tiles on a grid to reach their objectives while trying to block their opponent.
While it may not be the game of the year, or perhaps you're not a fan of Sorayama's female figures, *Sexy Droids* is still a solid game with excellent graphics. It's an interesting puzzle that offers both challenge and visual appeal.
