StarBlade is a futuristic action-adventure created by Silmarils for the Amiga, Atari ST, and MS-DOS and released in 1990.

Venture into the boundless cosmos and confront the looming threat of the Cephalhydres, which is endangering Earth's civilization. Your mission? Scour the far reaches of the galaxy, collecting scattered disks containing crucial intelligence on the enemy's whereabouts.

Silmarils, after for their American-themed adventure Colorado, returns with StarBlade, a gripping space odyssey. Familiar graphics and dynamic characters set the stage, but this time, the vastness of space becomes your battleground. Amidst the Orion Galaxy, a mutated queen insect, Genolyn, threatens humanoid existence. As the intrepid Storm Walker, your task is to locate Genolyn before she unleashes chaos upon the cosmos.

StarBlade places you at the helm of the cargo ship, Starblade, a crucial asset in your interstellar quest. Navigate the complexities of trade and combat as you arm yourself and maintain your vessel. Beware, as the Investigative Bureau has placed a hefty bounty on your head, attracting adversaries eager to claim their prize.

Utilize the Altta shuttle housed within Starblade to explore alien landscapes and uncover vital clues encoded on magnetic cards. Back aboard, manage ship systems, engage in combat, and plot courses to distant planets. While the cockpit provides essential functionality, ship-to-ship combat can feel cumbersome, and graphical fidelity falls short.

Maintaining Starblade requires diligence, often necessitating planetary excursions to procure essential components. Planetside exploration offers breathtaking vistas, but activities quickly become repetitive, leaving players craving more variety.

Starblade juggles multiple gaming genres, from action-packed combat to strategic exploration, commerce, and interstellar piloting. The game offers a captivating journey through space, marred by its repetitive gameplay and lackluster combat mechanics. Nevertheless, its rich narrative and immersive environments make it a worthy addition to Silmarils' repertoire, capturing the essence of intergalactic adventure.
