RoboCop is a side-scrolling shooter based on the 1987 movie. Ocean Software, a well-known computer games publisher, purchased the license for the title and sold it to Dataeast to create an arcade game. Then, Ocean itself ported the arcade game to several home computer platforms, including Commodore 64, Apple II, MSX, Amiga, and Atari ST. The ZX Spectrum version is considered one of the best games created for this system.
The Amiga version, whose graphics are loosely based on the ZX one, was almost entirely created by Peter Johnson, who was responsible for the programming, graphics, music, and sound. This version is the game you can download from GamesNostalgia.
The game was followed by RoboCop 2 in 1990 and RoboCop 3 in 1992.
