Hoi is a cute platformer for Amiga created by Team Hoi and released in 1992.
Our hero is a dinosaur who has to save his girlfriend. In the first level, he doesn't shoot; the only move is jumping, so he has to avoid enemies and dangers. Later, he can shoot spheres from his mouth to destroy his enemies, making things more interesting. At some point, he will also have to swim underwater.
The mechanics are similar to the ones you can see in any platformer, with little action and some puzzle-solving. Hoi doesn't try to innovate the genre of platformers, and it is not a top title like Superfrog, but it's well-made, polished, fun, and good enough to convince you to spend some time playing.
Unfortunately, the developers were not able to publish the game officially. The publisher canceled the contract after a pirated copy started to be available. A new publisher released the game but never paid the studio. A year later, they decided to release the game for free in the public domain.
