Laser Squad is a turn-based tactics video game developed by Julian Gollop with Target Games and initially released in 1988 for the ZX Spectrum. Later it was ported to the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, MSX, Amiga, and Atari ST.
Laser Squad was highly appreciated by magazines, and he received excellent reviews. It can be considered a precursor and an inspiration of other tactical games, particularly the X-COM series. The first game UFO: Enemy Unknown was created by Julian Gollop and was initially conceived as a sequel to Laser Squad.
This version, released in 1992 for PC MS-DOS, has enhanced graphics compared to the 1989 Laser Squad released on the Amiga.
