Game Review

Asterix: Operation Getafix (Asterix - Operation Hinkelstein in the German release) is an action-adventure created by Cocktel Vision. It is based on the character of the famous comic invented by Goscinny and Uderzo. The game was released in 1989 for the Commodore Amiga, MS-DOS, and Atari ST, two years after Asterix and the Magic Carpet.

The graphics are the game's best aspect: very colorful, a perfect conversion of the comics. At the same time, unfortunately, the gameplay is affected by imperfect programming and not-so-responsive controls. So, while Operation Getafix works well enough as an adventure game, the action mechanics are quite bad.

Anyway, if you are a fan of the Asterix comics or like cartoon graphics videogames, this is something you can try.
