Rick Dangerous is a 2D action platformer created by Core Design and published by Microplay Software in 1989 for the Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum and other home computers. The game is unofficially inspired to Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Rick is a sort of Indy and he will have to escape traps and fight against Nazi, armed with a pistol and dynamite. There are several scenarios in the game: jungle, pyramids, a german castle and a secret missile base. The game received positive reviews on the Amiga and Atari ST.
Core Design must have liked the theme of the "action archaeology" very much, some years later in fact they created one of the most popular franchise of all time: Tomb Raider.
