Earthworm Jim is a 2D shooter/platformer created by Shiny Entertainment originally for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and published in 1994.
The game design and the creation of the character were done by artist Douglas TenNapel, while the programming of the game was curated by David Perry (the author also of Disney's Aladdin, Supremacy: Your Will Be Done, and many other titles).
Featuring fluid animation, hand-drawn illustrations, innovative gameplay, and an excellent soundtrack, Earthworm Jim received many positive reviews and was elected Best Genesis Game of 1994 by Electronic Gaming Monthly.
