Game Review

Silent Service 2 is a submarine simulator created by MicroProse and published initially in 1990 for PC MS-DOS and later for Amiga/Atari ST.

The game is the sequel to the well-known Silent Service created by Sid Meier in 1985, but the famous game designer did not contribute to the sequel's development.

This sophisticated combat simulator gives you the control of a submarine during World War II in the pacific ocean. The game is set right after the battle of Pearl Harbor. As you can imagine, your task is to destroy Japanese battleships. Unlike the predecessor, you now have nine different classes of submarines at your disposal, as well as several types of torpedoes. The final goal is to destroy the heaviest and most powerfully armed battleship ever constructed, the Yamato.
