The main problem is the world looks almost empty: there are not many people in the cities, and in most cases, the only person you will find is the mission target. Not very realistic. However, this is understandable because a realistic open world in 3D would have required too much power. Computers at that time were not powerful enough. It would take thirty more years to have a Cyberpunk 2077.

Despite these minor problems, Midwinter II: Flames Of Freedom was praised for its ambitious scope, immersive gameplay, and engaging storyline. Critics and players alike lauded its innovative blend of strategy, action-adventure elements, and atmospheric presentation. The game is a testament to its developers' creativity and ambition.
