Game Review

Deliverance: Stormlord II is the sequel to Stormlord and was developed and published by Hewson Consultants in 1990 originally for ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, and Amstrad CPC. It was later remade on the Amiga in 1992 by 21st Century Entertainment. The Amiga version is quite a step up from the original in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Picking up where Stormlord left off, Deliverance requires you to control a Viking on his quest to rescue some nude fairies. Though the hero vanquished the Evil Queen in the first game, her minions are a different story. While wandering through hellish environments, you have to snatch fairies from the sky, all while avoiding hazards and slaying different types of enemies. Wielding his trusty axe, the Viking can use it as a projectile or hack and slash enemies at close range. Of course, he can jump and climb, but he can also interact with certain background objects.

Deliverance was well-received, with the Amiga version being a fan favorite. Many consider it a clone of Gods, but there are differences between the 2 games, with Deliverance more action-oriented. The graphics have certainly stood the test of time, in my opinion. If you like action and violence, this one is a good choice. It also has boobies.
