Laser Squad is a turn-based tactics game designed by Julian Gollop and his company, Target Games.
Originally, the game was created for the ZX Spectrum and released in 1988. Other versions for 8-bit computers, such as the Commodore 64, were released the same year. The Commodore 64 version was absolutely revolutionary, and it's included in our list of the best Commodore 64 games ever created.
The first 16-bit versions of the game for the Amiga and Atari ST appeared in 1989. The porting was handled by Teque, which did an excellent job improving the graphics and animations while remaining faithful to the original game's style. As a bonus, the Amiga/ST versions add 2 missions (The Cyber Hordes and Paradise Valley) to the original 3 (The Assassins, Moonbase Assault, and Rescue from the Mines).
