Best Amiga original games on GamesNostalgia

This category includes all games explicitly developed for the fantastic 16-bit computer Commodore Amiga. With its revolutionary graphics and iconic games, the Amiga left an indelible mark on the world of computing and gaming. Launched in the mid-1980s, this machine pushed the boundaries of what was possible, captivating a generation of tech enthusiasts and gamers alike. From its advanced multimedia capabilities to its innovative operating system, the Amiga set new standards in the industry and became a cult favorite among creatives and gamers.

When the first Amiga game Defender of the Crown was released, people could not believe a computer game could have that kind of graphics. After this, many other successes arrived, from Bullfrog's Populous to Cinemaware adventure It Came From The Desert or Gremlin's racing game Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge. Many other titles made the history of the Amiga, but not all of them are Amiga original games. Some studios developed games for PC or Atari ST and then converted them to Amiga. Still, in the '80s, the graphic capabilities of those machines were inferior to the Amiga, so we have games at 16 colors even when the Amiga could have done much more. That's why a game originated on the Amiga has a generally higher quality. To mention some of the masterpieces, Delphine Software's cinematic adventure Another World, DMA's puzzle game Lemmings, David Braben's Frontier: Elite II, and icon platformers Lionheart and Superfrog.

Some popular franchises like Caesar and The Settlers were also born on the Amiga, not to mention Team17's Worms.
